Tenant Activity Assistant

SUMMARY Assists in planning and providing innovative, cutting-edge events and activities designed to meet the needs and desires of the tenants. Leads both group and individual activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assists in the development and implementation of recreation programs to provide social, creative, physical, spiritual and mental stimulation.

Develops monthly and weekly calendar of events. Advertises and promotes events and activities.

Entertainment and vendors are researched, chosen, coordinated and scheduled.

Sets up and tears down equipment and staging for events, orders and distributes supplies.

Confers with the Director in regard to resident’s strengths and weaknesses, progress, needs. Participates in benchmarks for tenant participant satisfaction and engagement.

Prepares materials to notify tenants and staff of schedules and coordinates the schedule in the best interest of the tenant.

Assists in the compilation of the Garden View Newsletter.

Participates and leads various facility-wide events.

Obtains feedback from tenants regarding their opinions of the activities and what new activities they would enjoy. Implements new activities as tenant’s desire.
Offers individual therapy programs to meet the needs of tenants who are physically and are unable to pursue satisfying and beneficial interests on their own, or wish to have one on one opportunities.

Transports tenants as needed to/from leisure activities/events and medical appointments. Maintains chauffer’s license.
Assists in monitoring health status of the client and may administering medications as ordered by the personal physician.

Will assess and gain knowledge of tenants upon admit and incorporate their personal interests into the program.

May attend weekly team meetings and report participation and needs of the tenant.

Maintains availability of supplies for activities and has resources available that are age appropriate.

Completes all other duties as assigned.

Complies with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, regulations, and Standards of Conduct relating to the position and agrees to report any suspected violations of law or Standards of Conduct.

Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations.

Attends all mandatory meetings and programs.

Maintains a safe work environment using safe work practices, utilizing standard precautions and complying with hazardous waste procedures at all times.

Maintains the confidentiality of tenant, resident, employee and organizational information.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Activities coordination or experience preferred, not required. Knowledge of seniors’ mental and physical abilities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, patients, families and other employees or the organization. Communication and customer service skill must be excellent.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, REGISTRATIONS
A valid driver’s license required.
