Board Election Bio – Greg Ernst

Greg graduated from the University of Iowa in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdepartmental Studies-Health Science, a Business minor, and an Entrepreneurial Management Certificate. Greg continued his education at the University of South Dakota where he received his Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration in 2010.

Greg is the Regional Director of Iowa/Colorado for Dial Retirement Communities.  Greg joined Dial Retirement Communities in 2011 as Assistant Executive Director at Woodlands Creek, became the Executive Director in 2013, and Regional Director in 2017.

Under his direction, Woodlands Creek has received recognition from the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals for three straight violation free recertifications. Woodlands Creek has also been nationally recognized for resident and employee satisfaction scores, ranking in the top ten percent.

Greg has been on the Iowa Center for Assisted Living Board since 2016.  Originally as a Director at Large and Vice Chair in 2017. In 2019, Greg was accepted into the AHCA/NCAL Future Leaders program. He is also active on the IHCA Workforce committee for ICAL and played an active role in the Iowa Healthcare Association Public Relations campaign representing Iowa’s assisted living communities.  He has served on the Board of Directors for the Clive Chamber of Commerce since 2014 and has been an Ambassador for the Clive Chamber of Commerce since 2012.

Greg is an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and Green Bay Packer fan.  He has not missed a home Iowa Hawkeyes football game since 2005.
