Board Election Bio – Ann Abolt

Ann Abolt currently serves as the Administrator of Great River Klein Center in West Burlington, Iowa.  The Klein Center, 160 bed facility, is a non-profit organization and a division of Great River Health System with revenues of over 15 million.  The Klein Center is selected each year as the preferred provider in our community by the citizens of Burlington and West Burlington.  I have been the Administrator at the Klein Center for over 10 years.   I have served on the Administration Executive Team at the Hospital and was a GRHS Board Member.  I feel that being a part of a Health System has many advantages and challenges in Long Term Care.  The Klein Center received the Bronze Award for Quality in 2008 and the Silver Award in 2018.

I have served on the IHCA Board for 5 years as the S.E. District Director.  I currently serve on the IHCA Quality and Payment and Legislative committees.  I really enjoy being a part of these committees and making a difference in the quality of care and IHCA’s advocacy efforts.  Being able to make a difference in Long Term Care has been my passion since coming to this industry in 2005.  I received the IHCA Distinguished Administrator of the year in 2013.

Before joining the Klein Center, I was an Administrator with the Good Samaritan Society in Keosauqua, Iowa.  Before Long Term Care I had a 12-year career in Manufacturing.  My charitable work includes 20+ years at the Catholic school where my children attended serving on boards, volunteering and heading countless committees.

I graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelors of Business degree in Human Resources.  Ann has been married to Doug for 34 years and they have 4 grown children, Caitlin, Kelsey, Courtney and Quinn.
