PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Attendees will learn the details needed to ensure a successful implementation of MDS 3.0 and gain an overall understanding on how to use the Resident Assessment Instrument correctly. 

The MDS 101 education will review the MDS 3.0 form and go through complete line-by-line instructions to ensure proper reimbursement, optimal outcomes, and quality care. There will also be a review of how to collect the data for the MDS, how to avoid common errors in MDS coding, and instruction on how to submit the MDS 3.0 forms.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

1.  Identify how to accurately complete each section of the MDS 3.0

2.  Identify documentation required for assessment

3.  Identify how to use RAI manual and keep updated

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

This training is for Long Term Care facility (SNF/NF) personnel who are actively involved with the completion of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) process which is primary to Interdisciplinary Team Members and also for Directors of Nursing and Administrators. This class is a prerequisite for the Advanced Training (MDS 201).
