Jim Berkley has been with the Department of Inspections and Appeals since 2001. He has held positions as a Health Facilities Surveyor, Complaint/Incident Unit Intake Specialist, and Complaint/Incident Unit Program Coordinator and most recently as an Adult Services Program Coordinator. Jim enjoys assisting Providers and Staff in answering questions related to regulatory compliance. Prior to employment with the Department of Inspections and Appeals Jim was a Director of Nursing at a Brain Injury Rehabilitation facility in Ankeny. Jim received his Registered Nursing Diploma from Mercy School of Health Sciences in 1993 and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health from the University of Saint Francis in 2008.
Rose Boccella has been with the Department of Inspections and Appeals in the Adult Services Bureau since 2003. She is the Program Coordinator for central Iowa. She oversees the waiver process and is involved in the fining process for the agencies she is responsible for. Rose is involved in the rule writing process and assists the Bureau Chief with special projects. Prior to coming to DIA, Rose worked for DHS where she coordinated a collaborative project involving the conversion of nursing facilities to assisted living programs. She also worked on the development and implementation of a statewide systems change for people with disabilities. Rose received her MS from Drake University in 1992 in Vocational Rehabilitation.
Stacy Hejda is a Consultant for Assisted Living Partners, L.L.C. She serves on the Quality Committee, Co-chairs the Payment for Services Committee, and is Director at Large for the Iowa Center for Assisted Living. Stacy provides consulting services to assisted living facilities focusing on program development and regulatory compliance monitoring as well as working with the Elderly Waiver and HUD rental assistance programs. Stacy received her Assisted Living Management certification in the spring of 2002.
Cindi Kramer, RN, has worked with geriatric residents for over twenty years. She has provided consulting services to long term care facilities for the past 17 years and has expanded those services to assisted living programs the last two years. Prior to her geriatric career, she was a hospital cardiac nurse. She currently serves on IHCA Survey Results Committee and the ICAL Quality Committee.
Mary Jane Venteicher, RN, BA, LNHA, ALMC is the Director of Quality & Clinical Services IHCA ICAL and works closely with the IHCA and ICAL Quality committees. She is responsible for issues related to quality improvement, Advancing Excellence, AHCA/NCAL’s Quality Initiative and clinical practice issues in all long term care settings. She staffs both the IHCA and ICAL quality committees, the Iowa Nurses for Long Term Care and the Iowa Nurses in Assisted Living. She is provides guidance for Care Watch and LTC Trend Tracker users and assistance in other clinical areas. She currently serves as an affiliate member of the AHCA Quality Committee.
