Online CNA training is coming!
IHCA has received great news from DIA regarding Iowa approval for AHCA/NCAL's blended online CNA training program, How to Be a Nurse Assistant. DIA has verbally approved the 75-hour training program that includes 30 hours of online course work. The 30 hours of on-site clinical and 15 hours of on-site lab instruction can be hosted at an approved facility. The hands-on and written tests will be administered at a nearby community college. Recently passed legislation, HF 306, also supports the introduction of online nurse assistant training.
A goal of the IHCA and ICAL Boards and membership has been to develop a more consistently accessible CNA training option. The availability of this program will make great strides in getting CNAs certified and working in your organizations more quickly!
Watch for more information as we get the launch timing determined. Once DIA's official approval letter is received, IHCA will share with our members a timeline for the roll out of this new CNA training opportunity.
In the meantime, you can learn more about the program by viewing AHCA/NCAL's on demand webinar, CNA Solutions Using Technology to Solve Workforce Challenges.
